This non-residential course will take place over three weekends. It is both a training and continually assessed course. An external moderator will do the final assessment on the last day. Attendance at all three weekends is essential.
The requirements for the Instructor course are
- Minimum age 16 years
- Pre-entry sailing assessment (details in G14 or NSSA website)
- RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate
- Valid First Aid certificate – check RYA website for acceptable certificates
- On line Safe and Fun Certificate
The sailing pre-entry and ‘Safe and Fun’ must be completed prior to the course. The other two can be completed after the course; however your certificate will not be issued until they are in place.
If you do not hold these two qualifications they can be completed through the NSSA. Contact Sue for RYA Level 2 Powerboat (course fee £95) and First Aid (charged at cost).
On completion of the course your details will be sent to the RYA who will issue your DI certificate. All newly qualified Instructors must be members of the RYA. ( Follow the direct link on www.nssa.co.uk )
