NEW WAYFARER FLEET FOR NSSA

The NSSA have just received grant funding to replace our aging fleet of five Wayfarers. This is fantastic news as our present Wayfarers are now well past their best.
Funding has been received from ‘The Foundation for Sports and the Arts’ and the ‘Broads Authority - Sustainable Development Fund’. This very generous funding will enable the NSSA to purchase five of the new model Hartley Wayfarers. We should have these boats by the start of our season in April.
The Wayfarer fleet is vital to our operation as they serve multiple purposes and are therefore heavily used.
Some of their uses include; youth two handed sailing, spinnaker training, all of our adult courses (which generate vital income), ‘come and try it days’, staff development training, disability sailing and crucially RYA Instructor courses.
This is the latest success in keeping the NSSA fleet and equipment up to standard, safety being our top priority. This is an ongoing effort, which requires considerable fund raising. Without the backing of organisations like the FSA and the BA (SDF) this would not be possible. We thank them for their support.
Thanks go out to all those who have aided the NSSA.
