The Norfolk Schools' Sailing Association (NSSA) is a non-profit, voluntary organisation that runs a programme of sailing courses and activities, at Filby Sailing Centre, for children and adults of all abilities. The Association is affiliated to the National Schools Sailing Association and to the Royal Yachting Association (RYA).
Our goal is to teach young people to sail The NSSA participates in the RYA Young Sailors' Scheme and offers a variety of Adults RYA Dinghy courses catering from Beginner to Advanced levels. The boats available include Optimists, Toppers, Splashes, Lasers, RS Visions, Leaders, and Wayfarers. All formal sailing courses adhere to the recognised RYA standards and ratios. Our Instructors are qualified to appropriate RYA levels.
Our courses run throughout the season and range from courses for complete beginners and novices, through to Advanced and Instructor level candidates. The tuition is geared to keep pace with each individual's needs but don't expect a certificate for turning up... Our candidates earn their qualifications!
