2024 Instructor Training

This non-residential course takes place over five days from 8th - 12th July 2024. It is a training and continually assessed course. A  moderator will do the final assessment on the last day. Attendance at on all five days is essential.

The requirements for the Instructor course are :

  • Minimum age 16 years

  • Pre-entry sailing assessment  (G14 logbook required)

  • On line Safe and Fun Certificate  

  • RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate

  • Valid First Aid certificate – check RYA website for acceptable certificates 

  • RYA Membership

 

These must be completed prior to the course.

On completion of the course your details will be sent to the RYA who will issue your DI certificate. 

 

Pre-Entry Test - Saturday 17th February Book  

Please look up the details of the test and practice! If you don’t own G14 you need to buy one. There will be some available on the day.

Arrive for 9:30am and bring usual sailing gear. The length of the test will depend on the weather conditions and how many participants we have. 
 

The course requires a minimum of 4 candidates and has a max of 6 places.
